“Starter, Main, Sweet?” by Harry Mottram
is a 4 act play which attempts to encapsulate Axbridge's Progressive
Supper. A description of this annual fund-raising event can be found at
the bottom of this page, along with a chronology of the Axbridge
Progressive Supper & the marvellous people who made it a success. The Acts: Scene one - Preparations Scene two - The Starter Scene three - The Main Scene four - The Sweet The plot: Molly and Charlie Fyne are about to go on the Progressive Supper when Molly receives an offer from a former lover. As chance would have it the lover is sitting opposite her at her main course. Will she deceive Charlie and jump in a jacuzzi for a dirty weekend or will she resist the temptation? Meanwhile Mr Drink and his friends begin to weave their spell on the slurring words of the dinner guests. Warning: the play contains adult language and themes and is not suitable for people who are easily offended, or young children. Any similarities between the characters portrayed and real people is entirely coincidental.
