Blue Remembered Hills, by Dennis Potter, is ACT's first production of an established work.  Prior to this production our own script-writing team have delivered excellent scripts & we have elected to perform these pieces. It was originally written for television and first broadcast in 1979, Dennis Potter relates the activities of seven seven-year-olds on a summer afternoon during the Second World War.

The action of the play is set in a field, a wood and in and around a nearby barn.

The plot:    The play is set in 1943 in the West Country.  With the war in the air, and the world of adults still a mystery.  The lansscape of woods and hills becomes a children's playground, far from the troubles of war.  There they explore Friendships and loyalties with all the excitement, joy and cruelty that children are capable of.
